Event details
Their Excellencies of Bhakail and the Shire of Hartshorn-dale invites you to join us for the performance of the Lay of El Cid.  This excellent poem extolls the adventures of Ruy Diaz de Bivar, El Cid Campeador, a great warrior and loyal vassal of Castile.  Hear of his exile, his adventures in fighting the Moors, and his journey back to be honored by the king to whom he remained loyal.

The performance will be presented in the grand style of the court of Alfonso X, king of Castile 1252-1284.  More details about the setting are available on the event's website.

A day long buffet will be provided, with different delicacies coming out every hour.  See the website for a complete menu.  (http://bhakail.eastkingdom.org/ElCid/menu.html )

Bards and musicians from all over the East Kingdom and beyond will be in attendance to entertain!  Tokens will be available on site to show your appreciation for their performance.

There will be two options available for attendance, Patron and Above the Salt.  Patrons enjoy the performance and the food, and will receive a painted tile token and printed program.  Above the Salt Patrons will also enjoy a reserved lounge with special treats, and guaranteed front and center seating, as well as a special thank you the day of the performance.  All patrons will be able to purchase the lanterns, poufs, and tables that will be used as part of the decor for the day.  A brochure outlining all the patron opportunities is available on the event website.  (http://www.bhakail.eastkingdom.org/ElCid/elcidhome.html )

Rooms will be available for parents with younger children to retire to if necessary.  We are hoping to have parents and other volunteers willing to rotate through the room to help watch any children in attendance.  Children may not be left unattended at any time.
