Greetings to All,
Let it be known that the Shire of Smithwick invites you to our End of the Summer Medieval Fair.  Once again our event will be held at the authentic iron age Viking Longhouse, there will be vending, archery, thrown weapons, bear pit style heavy list, classes and demos.

There is no fee for merchants, but site reservations are requested please call 207-448-7302 or by email vikingqueenme@zoho.com

Our site provides rustic style camping.  Please bring your own drinking water.  No pets are allowed, please call us for service animal accommodations.  The event is discretely damp.  Trash is carry in and carry out.  We will have a bin available for recyclables.  The bottle refunds will be donated to the King and Queen's travel fund.  Fire is only allowed in designated areas.

Classes and activities:  Inkle Loom weaving demo, Lord Terren to hold an A&S class, Cooking over the open firepit, A lyre instruction class.

Feast Menu:  Vegetable stew, Rabbit & barley stew, Roasted chicken, pork, meatballs,, tossed mixed greens, dilled carrots, candied parsnips, humus with vegetables, assorted breads, boiled eggs, honey butter, Lemonade. 

Our Chancelor Minor has announced the following Youth activities:
Butter making class.
The Youth Marshal will be holding tournaments for archery and thrown weapons.  Participants must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

In Lieu of our donation breakfast, we will be holding a silent auction.  We are looking for donations to benefit the King and Queen's travel fund.

From the South in U.S.  make your best way to Interstate 95 to Houlton, Maine, exit 302.  Turn heading North at the end of thee exit ramp follow route 1 through the first set of stoplights and turn left shortly there after at the Family Dollar Store (the "B" Road).  Once on the B road you will travel approximately three miles and turn right onto Back Ridge Road.  You will travel a short distance to the First driveway on the right.  Follow the signs on the property to get to the field event.

From the Presque Isle area, make your best way south to route 1 to Houlton, at the intersection of the Family Dollar turn right on the "B" Road you will travel approximately three miles and turn right onto Back Ridge Road.  You will travel a short distance to the first driveway on the right.  Follow the signs on the property to get to the field event.

Event Fees
Site : Fees for the weekend event:
Adults 13 and older (SCA members) $15, nonmember add $5
Children 12 and under are free.
The family rate for 2 adults, 2 children $40 for SCA members.  Non members $50.00

Feast: The Saturday Day Board are a donation fund raiser for the King and Queen's travel fund.
The evening feast is part of your site fee.

Please remember your valid SCA membership card.
