Greetings one and all from the Canton of Distant Shore. We would like to extend a warm invitation to all who reside throughout the far reaches of the Barony of Ruantallan, and all of our friends beyond our borders, to join us on Saturday, September 21, 2013 for The Siege of Castle Theo D'or. Several battles will be fought valiantly throughout the day including a Siege designed by Sir Yessenge. There will be the annual Silver Arrow archery competition, as well as merchanting and a bring-your-own feast (group barbecue). The event will be held at the Lansdowne Outdoor Recreational Development Association (Lorda) site located in Landsdowne, Pictou County.
Site Details: The site opens Saturday morning at 10:00am and closes late Saturday evening at 8:00pm. For those who wish to camp, there is space available. The fees listed below do NOT include camping charges. There is an outdoor sink & faucet with excellent water, privies, a large central fire pit, and plenty of play space for youngsters. Merchants are most welcome but may need to provide their own tables for setup. The site is moderately wet. Pets are allowed.
Event fees are as follows - Adults $8, Children (under 12) $5, Family Rate $20, no charge for infants (under 2). Event fees are in Canadian dollars.

Feast: The feast is a bring-your-own steak, pork chops, sausages, tofu dogs etc. Barbecues and side dishes will be provided.

* TURN OFF AT EXIT 20 ON THE T.C.H. 104 AND PROCEED TO UNION CENTER (SALTER RD.) APPROX 5 KMS UNTIL 289 WEST AT UNION CENTER COMMUNITY

* PROCEED ON 289 WEST TO LANSDOWNE A TOTAL OF 17 KM FROM EXIT 20 TO LORDA GATE ON LEFT HAND SIDE.
* DO NOT GO OVER RAILWAY TRACKS LANSDOWNE COMMUNITY CENTER IS ON RIGHT (COUNTRY SCHOOL).
FROM THE TRURO AREA, TURN OFF AT BROOKFIELD AND PROCEED ON 289 EAST THROUGH MIDDLE & UPPER STEWIACKE, EAST VILLE UNTIL YOU REACH THE RAILWAY TRACKS AT LANSDOWNE (58 KMS).
