Market Day at Birka XXIV

| Event Last Modified: October 6th, 2012 | | | | Event details | | The Barony of Stonemarche invites you to a Market Day at Birka XXIV! This annual event will be held on January 25-26, 2013 at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, NH.
Their Excellencies, Baron Juan Lazaro Ramirez Xavier and Baronessa Maria Pagani, have arranged for the following activities to amuse their guests: a large indoor market with nearly a hundred merchants, a Ball *and* a Hafla, an A&S display, classes, and martial activities including a heavy list bear pit tourney, fencing and youth combat.
Additionally, Their Majesties of the East will also be holding Royal Court and Their Excellencies will be holding a Baronial Court.

General Information:
Hotel Information: The site is offering a reduced room rate for event attendees. Reservations must be made with the hotel prior to 1/1/13. Contact the Radisson directly at 603-625-1000 and mention the SCA/Birka to receive the reduced rate.
Merchants: Merchants are an important part of our event and we welcome you. Etain de Nacoillte will be the Merchant Coordinator and can be contacted at merchants@birka.org. All information needed to apply to be a Merchant will be published on our website: www.birka.org .
Classes/Meetings: If you are interested in teaching a class or require meeting space, please contact Lady Tomyris of Stonemarche at classes@birka.org or meetings@birka.org.
Martial Activities: There will be both indoor fighting and fencing. The fighting will be in the usual bear-pit style with prizes awarded to the top scoring gentles in both belted and unbelted categories. To volunteer as a marshal or MOL please contact Lord William RavenHair at marshal@birka.org
Information regarding Minors: Parents and Guardians should be aware that areas of the event site are open to the public. There are many exits from the building, along with the numerous hotel rooms. Please be mindful of where your children are at ALL times. The event site does not have Code Adam.
Volunteering for Birka: An event of this size requires a great deal of work, so any gentles interested in helping are encouraged to contact the autocrat in advance or refer to the web site for additional information. We're always in need of volunteers to work gate and security.
