|Artisans' Challenge and Display ***CANCELLED*** ||Event date: November 3rd, 2012|
|Hosted by Shire of Hartshorn-dale - Blue Bell, PA||Event Last Modified: November 1st, 2012|
|Artisans’ Challenge and Display cancelled. I have received word that the site for the event is not expected to have power back until Monday and we, therefore, need to regretfully cancel Artisans’ Challenge for this year. I hope that those who planned to attend will attend St. Eligius next weekend: http://www.eastkingdom.org/EventDetails.html?eid=2283 and/or the following weekend to Delirus Mediaevalis Scientia Feriae (Mad Medieval Science Fair) http://www.eastkingdom.org/EventDetails.html?eid=2317 . For those who have taken up challenges, I hope you will contact the challengers and make arrangements to meet up to talk about your projects. I will work with our Exchequer to issue refunds on pre-registrations, and will return checks that have not yet been deposited. Start planning for next year! Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. Thank you. |
Once again, the Shire of Hartshorn-dale calls upon all artisans to come to the Artisans’ Challenge and Display. Can you meet (one or more?) of this year's challenges? Bring your latest work and show it off and talk about it with other artisans. Got something cool you’re working on now? Bring it along and show it off as you share your enthusiasm. Issue or attempt a challenge.
Please tkae note of the unique start time for this event, which has been popular in the past -- 1:00. A light supper board (menu to be posted here) will be put out around 4:00. There is no feast, and those seeking heartier fare may wish to bring food to enjoy (or share). If cooking is your art and you wish to contribute item(s) to the food offered, please contact the head cook in advance to allow for planning.
There are 20 challenges this year, truly something for everyone ... https://sites.google.com/site/artisanscdw/home/challenges-for-2012 .
Those taking up challenges are encouraged to contact the challengers to let them know. Please also taken note of specific requirements for those responding to challenges with food.
Artisans are encouraged to register with the coordinator ahead of the event to ensure display/work space. If you require anything special (large display area, electricity, a “messy acceptable” area), you MUST register ahead of time to allow for planning. For those not registering in advance, space for display/work will be allotted on a first come first serve basis. Plan on spending some time with your work (other than when you’re browsing other artisans’ displays), to talk about it. This year the bardic/performance artists will be gathering in the parlor to share in "bardic play time."
Athena's Thimble will be having a meeting and expect to hold a panel. Other guilds or groups wishing to schedule a meeting, please contact Elizabet Marshall.
All attendees are encouraged to bring personal tokens to distribute to those works that speak to you. Some tokens will also be provided at the gate. There will also be a supply of comment cards available, though you are encouraged to discuss your thoughts with the artisans. The Display/Workshop is not a competition, and it is not a judging situation, it is a time to share and enjoy.
Site Opens: 1:00 P.M.
Site Closes: 8:00 P.M.
