We're hosting our annual Arts & Sciences Competition and this year we're adding a pentathlon to the competition!

The Pentathlon Rules are:

-You can enter as few or as many categories as you like.
-SCA Kluge & Medieval Moment cannot be entered as Pentathlon categories.
-Entrance in the Pentathlon is not required to compete in individual categories.
-You must enter at least five different categories to be eligible for the Pentathlon.
-Cross entrance of the same item in different categories is acceptable.
-Entrants can have only one entry per category.
-No proxy entries.  We are planning for face to face judging.
-The top five scores from categories entered will be used to determine Pentathlon score.
-No pre-registration required for display only.
-Pre-registration strongly encouraged for competition by November 3, 2012, because we would like to make every effort possible to get judges knowledgable in every entered category for each entrant.
-Research entries must be pre-registered one month out (October 10, 2012) and include their research submission.
-Performance entries will be limited to 10 minutes.
-Written documentation is encouraged for all entries including performance art.
-Cooking entrants are responsible for keeping hot foods hot and cold foods cold.  Kitchen facilities can be made available, please contact Rosette de Rhiems or Mistress Renye Wurm if you will need to utilize the kitchen.
-Laurels can only enter outside of expertise or at the discretion of the Pentathlon Coordinator.

The Barony of Dragonship Haven and the staff of St.  Eligius have continually striven to offer some great prizes to the participants of our competition.  This year's prizes will continue that tradition.
Every Category winner will receive a hand-made bookmark crafted by Mistress Renye Wurm.
Each of the 4 Super-Category winners will receive a cutwork enameled medallion made by Master Tristan de Worrell and Mistress Renye Wurm.
The 3 winners in our Baron's Choice, People's Choice, and Judges' Choice will receive a handstitched hood made by the fine artisans of Barony of Dragonship Haven.
The Pentathlon winner will receive a small 14th C knockdown table (predieu) made by Master Tristan de Worrel.

If you are interested in joining us and need accomodations, please contact either of the event stewards.
We will not be serving a feast.  Oak, Ash, and Thorn tavern will be selling lunch.  We will also have light refreshments during the lunch break.  Please plan accordingly.

We are looking for judges, we would like to have three judges per entrant.  If you are interested in judging please contact either event steward with your name and expertise.

Take your best route to Interstate 91.  Take exit 5 for CT-71/Chamberlain Hwy toward Kensington.  Turn right onto CT-71 S/Chamberlain Hwy.  Turn left onto W Main St.  Turn right onto Linsley Ave.  Turn left onto Hanover St Destination will be on the right, large brick church.  Drop off zone in Church parking lot and more parking just across Cook Ave.  There will be blue & white SCA signs.
