Four Tourneys and an Investiture
| Event date: September 15th, 2012 | Hosted by Barony of Bergental - Feeding Hills, MA
| Event Last Modified: August 30th, 2012 | | | | Event details | | Good Gentles All, from the furthest reaches of the Kingdom, we invite you to Four (count 'em!) Four Tourneys and an Investiture! [UPDATE: actually, 5 tourneys or maybe even 6! In any case, a whole lot of fighting fun!]
Join us for #1 our traditional Crestfallen Tournament, #2,3,&4 the first-ever ICOD Ducal Challenge Tournaments plus Bergental's Baronial Investiture, all on one glorious day, Saturday 15 September 2012. Our site is nestled in the Berkshire foothills, easily accessed with plentiful parking. A cheerful fire and cash bar provide ample comfort in the hall. Our generous neighbors from Quintavia will provide a delicious dayboard, under the direction of Lord Aleksei. The field is perfect for the heavy list competitions--and should be free of snow at this time! To honor Their Majesties and our new Excellencies, pray bring your best heraldic displays, pavilions and canopies and banners to bedeck the field and hall. UPDATED: Period structures will have preference on the list inside perimeter. Our field coordinator will
organize the set up on a first come, first served basis.
UPDATED: The Crestfallen Tournament has a grand and humorous history, which appears on Bergental's website www.bergental.org under History. Your best helmet crest and schtick are encouraged to enter this list of honor. Immediately following this tourney, the Bergental Baronial Champion's Tournament will be held under the auspices of Lord Eric von Hemeor, the current champion.
UPDATED: The ICOD Ducal Challenges will begin with Duke Gryffyth's Tournament, in the current popular Crown style with 3 quad lists of round-robin buckets. The finals are best 2 of 3 with great sword, pole axe, and, if needed, the fighters' choice of weapons form. Prizes will be awarded to the final four. Upon completion, Dukes Gregor and Kelson will collaborate on a Robin-Hood-Meets-Little-John- on-the-Log Tourney, surprise weapons forms to be announced. Prizes will be awarded.
UPDATED: Lady Anastasia has graciously volunteered to run a fencing practice and - if there is enough participation - a Tournament!
And as if that weren't enough glory and fun for a single day, Their Gracious Majesties Kenric and Avelina will invest our new Baron and Baroness, Lord Robert and Lady Emma MacMinn with Their lands and trust. Court will be followed by a sumptuous, scrumptious feast in the best Bergental tradition, from the talented kitcheners Baron Aethelhawk, Lady Siubhan Wallace and friends.
