||Event date: December 3rd, 2011|
|Hosted by Barony of the Bridge - South Kingstown, RI||Event Last Modified: November 28th, 2011|
The autocrat has received a request from the managers of our site for the Bridge Birthday. The floors have very recently been refinished. They are delicate, and still require gentle treatment.
Have you been looking the perfect opportunity to show off your newest pair of period soft-soled slippers? Regretting that no one ever gets to see how wonderful your stockings and hosen are? Need a good excuse to knit up a new pair of comfy socks? Well, your time has come!
Extra boot trays will be provided so that we may leave our hard-soled shoes and boots at the door. The site manager and the autocrat both thank you, and appreciate your cooperation.
Good gentles, please join us on St. Francis Xavier’s Day, the third of December, to celebrate the birthday of the Barony of the Bridge. The Barn of the South Kingstown Land Trust once again provides a beautiful setting for what bodes to be a wonderful day among friends.
There will be a feast, prepared by Lady Elizabeth Miller, sure to drive the chill from our bones on this early winter’s night.
In addition to the long-standing traditions of the Baronial Brewing Competition and the life-sized game of alquerques, we have some newer traditions including a luminaria contest as well as teaching and performance of the dance, Drive the Cold Winter Away.
The brewing competition will be overseen by Lady Adelaide Wanderer. Please address questions to this inestimable lady at celia.me(at)verizon(dot)net
For our luminaria contest, materials will be supplied to make luminaria on site. Participants are also encouraged to bring their pre-made contributions to the event as well. Questions regarding this contest should be directed to Lady Vibeke Steensdatter at nuksom(at)cox(dot)net.
Mistress Clothilde von der Insel will be orchestrating a T-tunic contest; more details to follow.
Hours of the event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Gate fee for the day will be $8 (plus NMS as applicable) for adults, $7 for students with ID and minors, with an additional $5 for those who wish to partake in the feast. Feast is limited to fifty, so please reserve your space early. There will be off-board space available.
Questions regarding the feast, as well as notification of food sensitivities should be directed to Lady Elizabeth Miller at e.kenney(at)gmail(dot)com . Inquiries as to the menu should be directed either to Lady Elizabeth, or to the Autocrat, Lady Caelia Blackwolf, at eicartb(at)yahoo(dot)com.
