The East Kingdom University is looking to hold its first ever East Kingdom Guild Celebration. This event is designed to allow the populace of the East Kingdom to learn about our Kingdom's Arts & Sciences Guilds. It is also an opportunity for members of the Kingdoms various guilds to meet, teach, and promote their arts and their organizations. Classes will range from beginner to expert level. Everyone is invited to attend classes, although members of EK Guilds will have the first opportunity to schedule classes as instructors. A few sessions aimed specifically at newcomers will also be scheduled.
The Chancellor of the East Kingdom University, Lady Elysabeth Underhill, is happy to talk to anyone in more detail about this exciting event. Please feel free to contact her at eku@eastkingdom.org. Some more information about the event is included below.
The deadline for bid submissions is Nov. 1st. When submitting a bid please use the event bid form on the Kingdom Seneschal's webpage. Please make a notation on the form that this submission is for an EKU event. Please also remember to submit the bid to the EKU chancellor. If no suitable bids are received the deadline will be extended.
Things to be aware of if you are considering submitting a bid.
Event Date: Ideally we would like to hold this event sometime towards the end of Their Highness reign (Feb.-April), although we will happily take bids for events that are designed to take place after this time. If scheduled during Their Hignesess reign, the event should be scheduled to not conflict with other royal progress events, as Their Highnesses have agreed to attend the event if at all possible.
Event Site: A suitable site for such an event would have classroom space for multiple class tracks, and a larger space for an A&S Display/Artisans Row.
EKU Support: Local groups interested in holding this event will be supported by the office of the East Kingdom University in all possible ways. The EKU will help:
- Advertise the event to the populace.
- Liaison with the guilds of the East Kingdom to find teachers for classes.
- Work with a class coordinator from the local group to plan and schedule the classes.
- Funds from the office of the EKU to support the operating costs of this event are also available.
Potential Event Stewards or representatives from groups interested in holding this event are highly encouraged to talk to the EKU chancellor (eku@eastkingdom.org) for more details!!!
Thank you,
Lady Elsyabeth Underhill
EKU Chancellor
