Welcome to the Current Middle Ages! The East Kingdom is a part of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA),
a not-for-profit educational organization which studies the Middle Ages by
recreating the pastimes and crafts of the period. International in scope,
our activities include tournaments, festivals, classes, feasts, and all manner of
arts and sciences you would find in the culture of pre-1600s western Europe.

The SCA is participatory. There are no spectators, and every person plays a
part in the creating the atmosphere. For some, this means making an attempt
at the proper clothing (we'll help you get started). For others, it means learning
calligraphy, fencing, dancing, or whatever activities pique your interest.

We hold "events" (what we call our gatherings) nearly every weekend. Some feature tournaments and feasts, while others specialize in learning more about particular crafts. The summer months often feature full weekends of activities concentrated around a camping event, often ending with bardic revelry around campfire.

An Important Pennsic Announcement Attention all heavy weapons fighters. Please note an important rules change for participation in combat at Pennsic.

All Minors (16 and 17 year olds) who hold Authorization cards in their Kingdom who wish to fight at Pennsic War 39, must present themselves and their credentials, along with their Parent(s)/Legal guardian(s) for Armor Inspection. Minors may only be inspected at Marshal's Point and only by the Senior Marshal in charge of Marshal's Point. Parents MUST be present at time of Inspection. No one can inspect minors in camp.

p Minors must mark their helms/Fencing Mask with four 2" x 2" Yellow Diamonds (Duct Tape is acceptable for marking) one on each side of helm. Minor's inspection sticker must be marked with the word "MINOR".

12. Except for minors who are duly authorized by the Marshal-in-Charge to participate in adult martial activities or classes, no minor shall be permitted to participate in combat-related activities at Pennsic War besides expressly sanctioned Youth Combat programs.
